Large Handguard Deflectors

Did anyone read the My Prudhoe Bay Adventure by Stephanie Tarian in the latest issue of BMW ON magazine? I noticed her 650 and her dad's 1200GSA are equipped with very large deflectors on the handguards. Does anyone know who makes these, what model they are, and where they can be purchased?

Thanks,
Steve

Pictures in article show MOOSE RACING on the handguards.

Are they these:

I fully understand the reason for the larger hand guards to fend off the cold and wind, but why the alligator, goofy, and the Walmart guy? What do they fend off?

Do they look like the guards on the HP2? If so, they are from Moose Racing. A well spent 25 bucks. You can get them at any dirt bike shop.

FOAM HANDGUARDS

MSRP: $24.95
  • A staple of the Moose Utility line for many years, these foam handguards are available in a Moose Racing version for motorcycles and ATVs
  • the outer shell is made from heavy-duty 500 denier nylon with 1/2" closed cell foam to keep the cold, wind and trail debris at bay
  • Universal cinch-strap type mounting provides a universal fit for nearly any model of Off-road bike or sport quad
  • Twin grommets on the outside of each guard enable the rider to attach cable ties to them and provide a more rigid mount

Those look like they could go over my oversized BMW guards and give even more protection for the really ugly days!

Found Pluto abandoned in a Cracker Barrel parking lot, Mr. Happy is from the fine folks at 'stich, and the Ali is the mascot in the NoVa tag game.

Yes, just like the guards on the HP2, although checking the Moose Racing website, I don't see anything that looks like it. Maybe it's just a difference in scale that is confusing me. The guards on the HP2 and in the article appear much larger than what I see offered by Moose Racing.

If they are the foam guards, do they fit over the existing R1200GSA guards, or replace them?

Thanks.

They are the foam guards and they fit over the existing guards. Velcro on one side and a zip-tie on the other.
