[QUOTE=Steptoe;20660996]The factory ADV crashbars are a liability. They cause far more damage than they prevent. The bikes use the top of the bars as a fulcrum point and roll over onto the tank/bars/instruments etc, especially if the tank has a lot of fuel in it.

I'll just have to be careful to not drop it....again.....on both sides......more than once.

Wunderlich aka Wunder vas Happen?

I was recently hit by a very attractive lady here in LA. She was driving along to my right a bit in front of me. She suddenly decided to turn left. The driver side door made contact with the right side of my bike. What resulted was a low speed hit in-which the bike was knocked out from under me. It went down on its right side and slid 10'-15'. When I picked it up I was pretty happy it was still running etc and I was glad to be ALIVE but I do feel that after seeing the damage, I'm going to switch to the SW-Motech bars. I did really appreciate my Happy Trails pannier frames though. And, if I had the panniers on the bike at the time of the crash my cylinder heads/valve covers probably would not have been half as damaged.

If you look close you can see a crack next to the weld.
