Lookslike we all hit the 'puters at the same time!
Thanks Pete for a great WE. Great to put some faces to some names and also to ride some tracks I've heard about for a long time. Pete, are you going to do a trip report? Did you guys (and girl) slab it back too Sydney or find any more dirt? Most important question is did anyone buy "Merl Haggards" CD??????? Andrew |

Ill do a ride report tomorrow.
We found more dirt on the way home. I got a flat front tyre 2 k's from home(seriously, I did), and Rodo's DRZ broke down in my front yard and I had to trailer him and it home... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Instagram@pvmoto

Great pics and reports guys, looking forward to seeing more.
Sorry I couldn't make it [actually my other commitments fell apart too as I've been sick since Wednesday night, managed work Thursday- only just, and have been laid up since, back on deck tomorrow but only functioning at 70%].

Ride report.
It was a crisp and sunny morning that greeted the 7 riders gathered at Richmond Macca's (pvmoto, beelizzy, rodo, Scotty "The Tube"4x4, peter"star gazer"GSA, mendy"shift lever"drz and mort_sv). After fuel and the compulsory Macca's breakfast nibble, it was up the Bells Line of Road for our second meeting point. At ZigZag we picked up 2 more budding adventurers (Not For Hoghway Use & KTben). From ZigZag we headed to Lidsdale via Blackfellows Hand track, where we picked up another 3 dirt magnets (live4daride, giddy goanna & tcrulz. We slabbed it to Capertee and filled up before hitting Turon gates Rd. With a rather daunting rocky section and multiple slippery river crossings, it's a challenging piece of road, that also takes in some gorgeous country side. It was at the second last river crossing that mendydrz, after narrowly missing being tagged by a red belly black snake, decided to to do his best interpretation of Disney on Ice right in front of me, coming down spectacularly snapping the tip of his gear lever off. We found ourselves lunching at Sofala before some of our companions headed for home (KTben, TcRulz, Giddy G & mort sv). Not for highway use, Live4daride & Scotty "the tube" 4x4 tagged along with the departing group, before turning up the bridle track to head for Hill End. Mean while, beelizzy, Rodo, Peter"star gazer"GSA, mendy"gear lever"drz and I headed for Hill End via the softer tar road route with our heads full of dreams of booze and food at the Hill End pub. Showing an incredible turn of speed, no sooner had we checked into our accommodation, and there's Peter" star gazer"GSA showered and spruced up ready for the pub. As beelizzy, Rodo and I headed for the pub to get supplies, we found not for highway use riding the streets of Hill End with news that Scotty was still on the bridle track and had copped a stick In the tyre. We headed to the pub while we waited for Scotty to arrive, to inform the others (peterGSA, mendyDRZ and a recently arrived live4daride) of what had happened. The boys leapt into action and ordered more beers. While much consuming of beer took place at the pub Scotty arrived and the team tyre changing effort was under taken by beelizzy, Rodo, not for highway use, myself and of cause Scotty. After 2 and a half hours, a few JD's and some lube we had Scotty sorted. I can recommend the evening entertainment at the Hill End pub, but the service was kind of shit! Morning found us at the pub again enjoying breakfast while we contemplated why Scottys tyre was flat again and how we where going to get him home. Luckily a gaggle of DR650's rode into town, one of which had had a tube on board that got Scotty rolling again. From Hill End we headed down the Bridle track to Bathurst. The track is in pretty good condition ATM, but it's still closed at the bluff to cars. From Bathurst we headed for home via the highway with beelizzy once again trying to twist the throttle tube off the little 230. We parted ways with mendy and his broken gear lever just outside of Lithgow. The remainder of us took Blackfellows Hand track back up to ZigZag, where we joined Bells Line of Road for the boring ride home. Pvmoto's ride awards... The "I've got big balls" award goes to mort_sv & Giddy Goanna for wrestling vstroms through the extremely rocky and testing mid section of TG rd. And the sole recipient of the "crasher" award goes to Mendydrz for his Disney on Ice performance. Thanks to all those that tagged along. It was an absolute pleasure to meet you all. Thanks pvmoto for the ride, ride report & the "bb" award!
I flat out had a rip-snorter of a time. Damn shame I had to miss the evenings entertainment. That guitar juggling act of NFHU looked like a cracker! Thanks also to all the riders who coincidentally turned up on the weekend. Great mix of people and machines. Some advice for Scottytubes4x4, the weestroms run tubeless front and rear. Just sayin'. ![]() Cheers Y'all, Giddy. |

. Sorry to miss out on helping with the flat tyre, just want to know where you carried the support rockTwo things that BMW GS riders and VeeStormer riders have in common is tubeless tyres (but only one of them have spokes ). Any way having tubes is character building and allows you to run low air pressure. Yee haw

Yeah thanks to all on the ride and PV for 'coordinating' it. Only regret was not being able to head to Hill End for the night. It did mean however, I had a great ride in the wake of KTBen back to Sunny Corner and then slabbed it home through Tarana and Bell.
Looking forward to the next one! |

GPS file
I took my Garmin 60CSx along for the ride. If anyone wants the route (not root!) let me know.
Might have to tell me first how to upload it or send it too you. ![]() Andrew
