sound in tank
I have a new f700gs with about 250 miles on it. I have only filled it up once. Today I gently moved the bike while on side stand and noticed something was tapping on the inside of the gas tank near the rear of the bike behind the fuel neck. Rocked it side to side a few times and confirmed this. Bike has about a quarter tank of gas in it. Is something located in the tank that may have come loose??? Bike has been running fine and have not noticed it before today. Thanks.

My 650 twin does that as well, especially with a half to near empty fuel tank. Something to do with the fule level float I think.
I don't worry about it. |

After searching the f800riders.org forums I found out that it is normal. Cheers.

Likely it is the "tip-over" valve....
There is a pendulum weight in the back right corner of the tank that closes a valve and keeps fully from leaking out of the tank if your bike takes a nap |

It's the float sensor, for the record, I keep my tank between half and totally full as often as possible. That sound pisses me off for some reason.
