Melbourne to bright offroadish- soft road route

From the Yarra valley area up to bright.

Any suggestions - bike is a xr600 loaded with camping gear. Fuel range about 300km (big tank fitted)

we did this last year to the Adventure Film festival and here is the route we took, it was a very nice ride you won't be disappointed!

On Iphone ? It just opens up in USA...

Do I need to open on my pc with maps installed to view?

Link works fine for me !

If your leaving from Lilydale area, I'd head up through Marysville, then Big River Rd through to Eildon/Jamo Rd, Howqua River Rd, down into Sheepyard Flat, then depending on how adventurous your feeling, you could go through to Bindaree Hut, up to the Circuit Rd, round to Pineapple Flat, then north to meet up with the Google map route on Rose River Rd.

It would be a big days riding.

Hey dr Steve those areas are exactly the ones I know and have experience on. To sheep yards is familiar - the country further north east is where I'm vague.

Looked at the maps.

Looks like (with a big tank)

  1. warby
  2. big river rd
  3. jamieson (refuel)
  4. sheepyards
  5. craigs hut
  6. lake cobbler
  7. abbeyards
  8. thing get interesting - from abbeyards it appears there are several ways possible. Interested in how I get to buckland valley road from abbeyards

There is a nice track around the back of Buffalo, starts the other side of Lake Buffalo dam wall, Yarrarabula Cr Rd then onto Goldie Spur Track - great view of the Horn, then follows the powerlines down to Buckland Valley. Check it out on rooftop maps for detail. Enjoy,

Did the same ride a few years ago left Bright around 9ish arived Lilydale around 5
