Much better looking than the funky Touratech shovel skidplate monstrosity.

Nice skidplate! I'm thinking about one too, the exhaust pipe on the right side looks vulnerable without it.

Tomorrow my bike will have it's first service (1000km) I'm looking forward to try the engine in the higher revs

Hope my aux lights will be mounted too (I'll post a picture).

A rock hitting the exhaust is the least of the problems down there ...

The Motociclismo team dented the exhaust pipe in Greece last week and I think one of the Adventure bikes also took a hit there during the Adventure campaign photoshoot. But that was not in Marocco not Chili.

What's the situation in Chili Goti? Think you have an absolute wonderful country for the Adventure bike! Here everything is as flat as a pancake (exept one hill shown on a picture in an earlier post).

Yeah, I remember the dented exhaust (fixed with photoshop later ) from the first set of pics. But a rock hitting the oil tank or engine case would be far worse, I think these parts are the ones you really want to protect.

Chile is a great place to ride. Awesome. We don't have the limitations Europe is facing in terms of access to off road trails, and since is such a long country (5,000 km) you can choose between almost any kind of terrain, from desert to forest, at sea level or as high as 4,800 meters,...
The downside of living in Santiago is that I have to travel lots of Km to reach the real nice places: last weekend we rode 800km to reach our destination, rode there during the day and then 800km back home next day,...but hey, I'm not complaining
That said ... I still don't know the north&desert, I hate the hot weather!

You're right, a dent in the exhaust will not stop us :-)

We would be glad to have some of your higher temperatures over here, it's been freezing cold for ages here. The nature is 3 weeks behind schedule so we need some catching up !
Fortunately the R and my Gerbing gear keep me from freezing.

Unfortunately this morning the aux lights hadn't arrived yet at the dealer, will be mounted as soon as the parts arrive.

I did have a set of bar raisers mounted to raised the handle bars a little over 1 cm for a little more upright position at lower speeds, effect is great (I'm 1,85). Also had the 1000km service without any issues, TPMS was added to the menu (was missing). No errors found.

ADV 1190 R

@Igor (ciao Dab68 from QDE): let me ask you something; my KTM dealer told me that for the aluminum engine guard (paracoppa in alluminio) I have to wait 1 month. I just saw your picture above and you already have mounted on it.
