Fantastic! I can only dream of such a trip!
I thought about a gopro set up but getting a bug in the lens can sure ruin a lot of pictures. Heck, I even got a bug in the lens of my hand held camera last year and messed up about 100 pictures before seeing it. Bet I check it lots closer now at every stop.

And of course some killer photos squawk.
The GoPro ones are the best I've seen, they really capture the feeling of riding in the Alps.
I expect under the best of conditions one would discard a bunch. But at least you doesn't have to pay to have them developed. But trying to shoot with a regular camera leaves a lot to be desired (at least for me).
I haven't made it to the Gandes Alpes yet, perhaps I can manage another ride in europe before my wife puts a stop to them.

Wow!

Excellent Report, I'm off to do the same route in May, from the 11th to the 25th this year and can't wait to see those views in person, lovely!

Oddly I don't even remember cleaning many bugs off my bike on this trip at all! I've got some anti-fog strips for the GoPro now because it usually fogged up within minutes on the mountains

Great RR, I'm looking to do a similar route this September.

Very cool. I did this pass in September - I'll be putting up some shots in my RR in the next couple days. The pass was closed overnight due to snow and I came close to missing out on this incredible ride!

When were you there?

30L Holan Nomada Pro's from Poland. The quality is top notch and they can take a beating as well

If my GPS date is correct, I was there on Sep 25th. Col de l'Iseran was almost closed for me! That one was the 13th I believe.

Keep your pics coming

Very cool! Looks like you were about 10 days after me - I was there on the 13th or 14th so around the time you were in Col de L'Iseran. After my experience I was wondering how soon it would be until they closed the pass for the rest of the year... figuring it could be any day.

My heart sank the morning I went to hit the pass - the hotel owner told me the passes were closed due to snow... and when I asked her when they would reopen, her response was that they may not until next year!! Worst response... ever...
