Az Yaqui Trail and Beyond
Sunday a group of Arizona Trail Riders staged just North of Wickenburg to go ride the Yaqui Trail and do some exploring.
This Yaqui was described to my by a good friend of mine, Chris Plumb, as "classic single track" and it definitely is in every way imaginable. The trail has everything for the technical rider including some nice open sections that are a blast....if you can see the trail Check out the video to see what I mean. Give it a minute to load and you won't be disappointed.www.arizonatrailriders.org/dh/Yaqui_Trail.wmv After the Yaqui Trail we headed North towards the Cooper Ranch to find the Southern section of the Spring Creek Trail. This is another old road that is now basically just a cow trail which will make a great alternate route to, and from, the Cooper Ranch. We found the Northern section last year, and now know the Southern side, but as you will see at the end of the video there is still the elusive middle section. I know we are less than a mile from where we stopped on the Northern side so we just need to get over those mountains....no biggie, next time. www.arizonatrailriders.org/dh/Spring_Creek_Trail.wmv The route back included some of the fun jeep road fro the 2011 Wickenburg H@M, including that fun sand wash, and of course Box Canyon. After the ride it was off to Anita's for a cold beverage and awesome Mexican food.

I know the Yaqui Trail...
Have been on it several times... However I was on a Four-Leg-Drive Mule named Sparky. The Desert Caballeros Ride used that trail many times and may still today. The DC always camped near Coopers or beyond and had a day of horse raceing there. ![]() ![]() ![]() Did you pickup the trail near Angel's Honeymoon Cabin? You Single Track Riders are really out for adventure. However I guess I was also 35 years ago. Looks like a great time...

Sounds like a good time. I'm not familiar with that trail, but have ridden the general area a bit.
