Leo Vince Exhaust on KLR?

Has anyone run a Leo Vince enduro slip-on muffler on a KLR? Good? Quiet? What do you think?

Good question Bill, I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on one and would like to know also. I'm back and forth between the LV or a FMF Q4. Happy Trails has them at a decent price right now.

Although I sold my KLR a while back, was always looking for a lighter, less restrictive system. Never got a chance to try an aftermarket myself, but listened to an FMF on a friends KLR, waaay too loud.

I've had a Leo Vince on my KTM for a few years now, very pleased.
Nice quality unit, way quieter than the FMF, and the price is reasonable.

Nice to see their now making a unit for KLR - go for it, you won't be disappointed.

I have one on my DRZ 400 and like it a lot. I put on the "quiet" pipe with the spark arrester and it is nice sounding and still allows the breathing to get performance.

Thanks for the feedback. KLR sound is to true thumper sound as VW Beetle sound is to a standard 4 cylinder.
I don't want loud, I just want it to sound like a Matchless, Gold Star, 441 Victor, Ducati single, or even a current Royal Enfield.

I didn't know Leo made an exhaust for the KLR. My next farkle is a rear shock since I've been bottoming the crap out of the stocker but a lighter exhaust system is on the list too.

I've had a FMF Q2 pipe on my bike for around 9,000 miles and I don't think it's anywhere near as obnoxious as your typical Harley or a KLR with a Supertrap. My bike isn't much louder than my lawn tools. Even my wife doesn't think it's too loud, so there's all the validation I need. I might be desensitized from Dinosaur Jr and ACDC concerts, but I've never had anyone comment on the db level of my bike. Just sayin'.

Please post back with a report. I'm thinking this is the pipe for me. Things I want to know are;

1. How does it fit?

I have an 09 KLR 650 with the Australian Staintune exhaust fitted. It has a lovely note, is much lighter and cost about A$600 fitted. It gives more immediate response and greater torque plus increase economy. Highly recommended!!!

Wow, your friend must of had a 4.1 competition can or else his packing was blown out and he didn't have the spark arrestor in it.

I had the Supercrap ISDE on my KLR now that's loud - even with 6 baffles in place.

I have an FMF Q4 on my KLR ringt now, it's not that loud.
I went to a Dual Sport Rally, the decibel meter had the pipe at 98 DB's.

You can always get a smaller diameter insert for the end cap if you think it's too loud.

I have been holding off getting a aftermarket exhaust for me KLR.
I am a fan of LV exhaust, having them on two Husky four strokes, so I'll be interested in seeing how well they work.
I can say that one of the things Ilike about the LV is how they supply enough outlet tubes (plus the spark arrester) to make the system pretty quite, if that is what you want.
