Side luggage rack for KTM 640E?
I seem to have searched everywhere Trying to find side racks for my 02 640E and can't seem to come up with anything. I would like some that would carry waterproof soft bags. Tried SW Motech, Wolfman, but nobody lists them for the E. Anybody ever seen any? Thank you in advance!

You can use the same racks from the 640A I believe

I used Dirtbagz Rangers on my 640e. They workout great but, because they're not waterproof I put everything in Ziplock's large (3 gallon) heavy duty ziplock bags. Take a look http://www.dbzproducts.com/index.htm

Do they hold enough for a few days travel? I wonder if they are the same as the 640A?

Yes, but it all depends on how you pack. As a reference the larger Ranger bag holds 15L each and Wolfman Expedition bag holds 19L each.

I've got a 640E and a 640A in the shop. The rear subframes are identical. Adv racks will work on the E.
That said, you don't need racks for a few days. Not even for a few months. I've got some Ortliebs that work fine without racks. Get a decent tank bag and a roll bag for the back to compliment the soft bags. I slide the Ortliebs forward a bit so they're over the rear number plates. There's enough support there that nothing has melted yet. I don't even think about it anymore. |

If I recal, they're rather pricey. The Wolfman Beta bags are a decent price and should fill the same roll.
