Its been a very interesting off season so far with a lot of teams cutting or letting some bigger name guys go.

I think it is a strategy by design though. They know there are not many teams in any better position to pay them what they want than they are. If they are not picked up, they can get them back at a more palatable number towards the cap. Some of these guys will get picked off, as some teams planned for this better than others. But for the most part, older and slower with big numbers will not be rewarded.

Now, how will it play out on the morale side of things? That is a risk too.

I agree there's teams that will try to resign guys they just cut, also some teams are gonna spend the money to get these guys on the hopes of making a run.
Speaking of moral, what's gonna happen with all these guys getting cut or having to restructure while these quarterbacks are signing record deals left and right, something's gotta give. Flacco's deal I'm still not sure he is worth that money but hey if the offers there take it.

With SF and Seattle are gearing up at WR, the NFC West just got more interesting.

Hard to believe that SF got Boldin for a 6th round pick. Seems like a brotherly, "Sorry I beat you in the SB", gesture.

There's been some talk today about SF landing Ed Reed too. If that happens, the commish needs to step in. Being a Seattle fan, I think we paid way to much for a 5' 11' WR that only played half a season last yer, but we've been overpaying for Viking receivers for years now.

Yeah, but when he doesn't have a headache he is lights out.

Alex Smith to the Chiefs and they loaded up on more picks....is Carmen back? Is Eddie driving the ship? Egads.....
They are going to be stacked with youth, from the real meat of the draft.

I would be surprised if Ed Reed goes anywhere. Ozzie wants him, but can't afford to overpay him. This way he tests the market...gets a number and Ozzie meets it. Fair to both parties. Probably not what an agent wants to see though.

Ravens are getting picked apart or shipping guys out, I did like Boldins stand on the contract issue. I think a couple of these WR moves there are interesting because each has great skill but a boatload of issues to.

If GB doesn't open up the wallet and do everything they can to sign Steven Jackson, they're delusional.

Welker appears to be done in NE, bummer for Brady cutting $$$ and watching his #1 target walk. It looks like Denver will score on this one!!

This off-season has been a wild one. Free agency this year just seems crazy.

Maybe I'm forgetting past free agency signings and trades, but this year seems like the year when some big names got released and then picked up by the last team anyone would expect.

Brady must be livid I'm guessing. I wonder how NE will handle the loss of Welker to Denver.

I didn't think the Pats would let him go, as he's been such a big part of the offense. But Brady knows it's a business, and he'll get it done with whoever is there. They signed Danny Amendola, who is 4 years younger than Wes, and is a good player. We'll see...

Belichick probably implanted some kind of surveillance bug in Welker's body so he can cheat when NE plays Denver. If that really even is Wes Welker out there.
