Campground cost

I am doing a trip to your state this year in June-July and would like to Tent camp each night. When you Google many of the campgrounds they do not show the cost per night to stay? I would like to stay mostly in campgrounds that have Wifi and maybe a shower and therefore would try and avoid dry camping.

Can you give me a ballpark cost figure to tent camp in you area.

Thanks, Jim

If just plain O camp, around $8-10

Places with water , and wifi, such can range from $15-20 ish

The wi-fi will not be what your used to and it is all hit or miss.
McDonalds or Starbucks has the best Wi-Fi

Been there done that

+1 on this

Campgrounds with wifi are few and far between...and it usually sucks.

Also, many of the campgrounds here will only have outhouse facilities, few have showers. You can find showers in some of the roadhouses & gas stations/truck stops.

Many use the gravel pits and river gravel bars up here.

If you get to Anchorage our Harley Shop has free camping with a code access shower room. And on the other side of the campground is Motoquest Tours. All great people.

Good luck and have fun, Mark H.

Buy the book Alaskan Camping, it lists all locations, facilities available (or not), and the cost for each place. Gives great directions to access
Each campground or site. I think it was around twelve bucks and is extremely accurate.
It lists BLM , freebies, and commercial campsite. Well worth the money!

Also, some offer free firewoods, and if they don't. Usually $5 a bundle if u need if for cooking or just to stay warm.

Camping in National Parks.

I just checked your age and you can check the site for national Parks and get a pass at parks for 50% off. You may need to dig through the sites to find the information . Try nps.gov

Yes I have a NP seniors pass which allows me free access to all NP for life. In many NP they also now have bike & camp sites that cost $6.00 per day to camp a truly wonderful thing...Denali is $11.00.

However, I will also be camping in Glennallen, Anchorage, Homer, Steward, Willow and Fairbanks where I found many good campgrounds but not show the price to tent camp.

Jim

Can't you buy a state park sticker for $30 and get free camping at any of the state parks? Also, if you have one of these you can camp at any Federal land (BLM, national forrests, etc.) that offers camping and National Parks for free.

camping book

Do you know if they have a book like that for Canada? I'll be driving down to Washington this summer and that would be great to have
