Hey Uncle Vance.

That sounds like a great idea. I'll add that to my calender of things I need to do.
Got any plans to come up to Idaho this summer?
I've got some real cool things for you to check out.
Let me know.

Q I'm wondering about the winch. Have you had to use it? Any videos?

Thanks for all the pics and report, I sure hope this summer is a little less smoky.
From watching the news tonight, I think Dingweeds might have gotten snow today .

The Super Enduro has to be MAD and hanging its head low after 600 miles of pavement. Be careful, knowing the beast, it will be looking for revenge. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the report. I was on the WABDR about 3 weeks before you, but due to limited time, a mechanical issue and forest fires, we could only do a few sections. Those pics of the washout bring it all back though.

I have a 690 and was wondering what the KTM Rally was all about. You've encouraged me to put it on the calendar for next year.

Thanks!

This year the KTM rally is in Steamboat Springs CO.
It's going to be a great gathering with some amazing riding in the area so book a few extra vacation days to stay and explore.

I put on extra layers of clothing, turned the heated vest on high, turned the heated grips on high, and we rolled out.
The road took us along the edge of a nice lake, and then the GPS told us to take a left.
About a two miles later the road got rough, and soon it came to an end.

It appears that the river flooded and washed out the road.
We got off the bikes and went to see if we could get through.
Where was this on the WABDR and what route did you take around it? I am doing it this summer and any info would help.

Thanks,
BT

Hi Q,

Just got back into town last night and caught up with your report. Loved it!
It was a great reminder of how much fun was had at this years rally.
Those pics with the glasses are hilarious.

It was getting cold that evening as I set up Camp Snuggly in the mountains just to west of La Grande, and there was nothing to do so I simply went to sleep.

Stats for the day:
196 miles. Moving average 57.6
Moving Time 3:24 Stopped 4:41 Total 8:06

These pictures make a guys heart happy, I grew up in Hermiston Oregon.

Well, we camped at the edge of Rimrock Lake, about 40 minutes East of Packwood via Rt 12. Looking at the WABDR map, the route CJ had planned for us is not actually part of the WABDR. It can be seen on Google maps running between Dog Lake and Clear Lake. It looks to be less than two miles long.

The WABDR has people routed on Rt 12, so not big deal on missing this part.

I hope this helps.
