BMW G650X Prefilter Bracket

Just gauging interest in making a few more of the Unifilter Prefilter Brackets. The price is $50 for one in titanium, shipped to you CONUS. Orders must be prepaid.

For anyone that has a Unifilter on their G650X, you know that it doesn't exactly seat properly in the air box and that it does need a pre filter.

This one is titanium with a piece of Unifilter foam under it. The extra foam is not included.

If you're willing to commit to this, PM me to order one.

I wonder if the bolt holes in the titanium/material could be drilled just large enough so that the stock airbox cover could be used.

The holes would have to be just large enough (or chamfered) for the standoffs on the stock cover to press down on the pre-filter sheet and filter holder but not so large so that the standoffs would slip all the way through.

How thick is the titanium?

Probably much simpler to just not use the stock airbox cover as intended.

I would like one because the original from unifilter didn't fit too well and while trying too fix it i cut a bit too much, but not in titanium.
Can you do it using some sort of plastic like the unifilter?
Also shipping to europe would put the price a bit higher wouldnt it?

The titanium is only 0.035" thick, so you can still put the cover on over it if you'd like.

Prefilter

Great idea!
My Uni filter actually fits great but get VERY dirty fast. This also may slow any water penetration.
Does it include the bolts?
Thanks!

No, no additional hardware is included. You simply reuse the OEM screws that hold the inner air box cover.

Bump.

I saw the ad in the flea market for a prototype and managed to snag it minutes before somebody else called dibs.

I installed the (light and titanium) plate today with some oiled green Unifilter foam. I used the stock airbox cover (with some plate modification) and positioned the foam under the plate. The plate and airbox cover presses down and around the stock plastic filter brace and effectively seals the pre-filter foam in place.

Sheet of green Unifilter foam was sourced locally for $16. If you utilize the sheet of foam wisely, you could easily get 5 (maybe 6?) pre-filters from one sheet.
