I am very close to finish it:
- I have the lights (several versions to balance costs)
- tomorrow I will have the creen optimized for the lights ready
- mounting bracket is ready
- only thing I am still looking for female screw, that will enable turning the screw, but not tighten it - sorry dont know the correct expression - but you can see such stuff on Touratech Hella conversion kit.... I have some idea to do it other way and I will test it during the weekend

I think you mean a spring-loaded screw for height adjustment, right?

Hi there,

sorry, but I am bussy last days in the office and finishing the underseat auxilliary tank...

But finally I did some progress. I have found a "laser cutting" company and we developed alu-bracket to hold the lights, as you can see on the picture.

Tomorrow we will 3D scan the screen and the lights and design crossing between the screen and the lights. Than I have to develop the mould and start production. I believe the first kits will be ready in mid of July.

cheers Rade

This was asked before but I don't believe it was answered.

Is there a plan for a paintable version (fiberglass for example).

I have no interest in Carbon Fiber.

So that is "no" then?

"Why not"? I guess for the same reason some people like red bikes and others like yellow bikes. Not everyone likes the CF look.

I believe he is getting at the fact that you can just as easily paint over the carbon fiber.

CF seems a rather expensive base layer for paint, compared to fiberglass. Also correct me if I'm wrong, doesn't the CF weave have a distinct texture to it.

Anyhow, it's the OPs product. He gets to produce/sell in whatever version he wants.

No. It adopts the mould surface texture which I assume is smooth but I agree it is an expensive base layer. Paint for some weave for others!!

Thanks for explaining Pete. All the CF I've seen had a distinct textured weave to it, I didn't realize it was from the mould.

Yup. I just don't like the "bling" look. I know others feel the exact opposite and can't install enough CF onto their bikes

Since this post is in OC rather than vendors, I'll tangent a little .... so can the same mould be used for making both CF and fibreglass?

Seems there are at least 2 people here who'd buy the product if it was offered in fiberglass.

Yep. Can produce a fibreglass part - it's all a fabric to start with. But having said that rade might be using a prepreg. ( fabric preimpregnated with granular resin) that is thermoset. He Might be lucky and have an autoclave!!!

And to add another option...

Hey Rade,

Is is possible to make a black fiberglass version of the Rally dual light Screen... Where the screen section is not part of the mold. And the base section has a mounting edge where stock poly bicarbonate screens can be cut to mate to you assembly and screw mounted from the cockpit side.

That way those happy with clear stock or Moose -2.5 screens can adapt them to your headlight assembly.

Sure, Why not;)!!!

Count me in!!!

I can make a few more if anyone is interested. Just a personal project of mine. Hella lights with HID conversion kit on the way. I want to be able to use any standard wind shield and preserver the look/profile of the stock headlight.

Just a mock up of the face shield.
