OC to the 909; silverado to Toms Farms, 5/18

We'll be heading over there for breakfast in the morning. Our route will take us up to 4 corners, onto Bedford Road and into Corona. I've done this ride a dozen times, and it's pretty mellow. Anyone on two wheels is invited. We're leaving Anaheim around 7 and should be leaving the Silverado trail head around 815a.

Sounds interesting. How much fuel will I need to get from Silverdo to the 909? Just wondering because I'm a bit lazy to change out my 2 gallon SX tank. Is this a big bike or smaller bike type ride? I have a GSA and a KTM 520 plated.

Fuel shouldn't be an issue. I've got a 4 gallon tank, and don't come close to burning up half. There's also a Shell station close to TF.

I'll be at Maple Springs sometime in the morning. If you see an all black DRZ, wave. Probably do main divide to Ortega. Quick meal at HK and then back early for family obligations

Ended up flying solo. Got about 2 miles from the Bedford gate and pulled over for a pit stop. Realized I lost my plate somewhere, turned around and hauled ass back looking for it. Found it, mangled in the road just past where Silverado turns to dirt. Now I was determined to get there and enjoy my breakfast.
Moving along at a good pace, coming up to a right hander an oncoming Jeep crossed my line and locked it up. He was blocking the trail and I had nowhere to go. So I slid into the side of him and bounced back a few feet.
He got out, thinking he probably crippled me. Everyone was okay, and after the Birdies stopped circling my head, I fired the bike up.
Now, someone with better judgment would take this as a sign from the Gods of Moto to pack up and go home. Not me, I lack any sound judgment. So I headed east once more.
Well, the Moto gods didn't take kindly to me not heeding their warnings, as the front end washed out in a corner and a rut hit the brakes for me later on down the trail. But, I made it to breakfast and it was delicious.
This was one of those Murphys Law kind of ride days. My foot is black and blue and my arms are killing me. Can't wait to do it again next weekend.

Glad you made it at least in one piece. Sorry I couldn't make it. Maybe next time.
