No problem! Yes, the good ol' 3-channel helis! If you're pretty good with that a transition to a fixed-pitch heli or mini quad shouldn't be too difficult.

Next question then is.... will a JR Sport SX600 do as a radio for the Blade?

It's the latest radio I own and it's more than a few years old now, would be nice to not have to purchase one immediately.

Here's a great sample of what you can do with an OCTO-copter carrying a DSLR.

Unfortunately, not without a module which will act as the uplink and your Tx will become the slave.

It may be cheaper to buy a Spektrum DX6i 6-channel radio. They're $140 or so, I think.

or you could take that money and buy a brand new KTM 450 and have some money left over for gear!

OK - probably a dumb question from someone who has not yet started their first build...

In the picture below, how does this quad get balanced when the battery is so far to the rear?

Look close...

The battery goes on the bottom of that one. Near the middle.

As I'm sure you have noticed, multis come in hundreds of sizes and shapes. The center of gravity is always at the meeting point of the "X" made by drawing lines across opposite corner motors. Some, as this one, have a battery on the bottom between the skids. On mine, for example, the battery is at the very back to compensate for a Go Pro or other camera the very front.

So I ma getting closer to ordering parts for the build of the H-quad, but a bunch of stuff ison backorder - specifically:

DT750
Plush 30 amp
2200 3 CELL BATTERY http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...934&aff=247441

Do you have any suggestions on alternates I can use from the Hobby King site?

Also, is there any reason not to buy the Orange TX instead of spending more on a Spektrum?
