Another endorsement for the Big Agnes memory foam inflatable pillow. Big thumbs up for this product. I have broad shoulders and carry two when space isn't at a premium.
My Agnes bag has an integrated pocket for both the pad and pillow so nothing shifts in the bag overnight. I really like the ideas they've brought to market and their gear has been pretty bombproof for me. Fairly reasonably priced as well.

I use a travel pillow I found at KMart (you can also get a matching pillowcase). It is firm enough, cheap, and squishes up tiny in a compression sack. Just don't wash it...it turned into a lumpy mess. I replaced with the same.
