Hi Taz!

The parts are actually supposed to be enroute to me now. Thanks for the offer! I was in Antigua after leaving BMW Guatemala and was aware that there was a mechanic located there, I guess that would be you, but the moto was doing OK there!

In the end, the issue with the Debit Card was at my bank according to BMW, however the Credit Card went through with no problem.

Donnie,

Have you called your bank to figure out the debit card situation? My experience has been when I'm traveling that they will sometimes lock the card until they hear from me. Now, if I'm going to be on the road for a while, I call in before I leave and give them sort of an itinerary.

Gee, my bank doesn't carry HESes for my BMW. I'm gonna have to look into that!

I used to do that LIz, but now I am almost always gone. I was actually away from my house for 212 days last year. I have used my Debit Card at many ATMs here with no problem. I have not used it since yesterday. I have a telephone number for my contact at my bank, but I left it at home.

I have never used my Debit Card for anything other than ATMs when south of the border. I don't need any more Quetzales at this time, I plan to head to El Salvador tomorrow and they use US dollars. The parts manager at BMW told me in an email that it was normally easier with Credit Cards. That makes sense, as my bank is not an International Bank, but my Credit Card is.

My moto is alive!

And running well! The parts arrived today and we installed them correctly. No problems during warm up like I have recently described. Just returned from a 2.5 hour ride with no problems. Will be headed to El Salvador tomorrow.
