Hi!
I am in Nicaragua today. In the process of paying a fine for a road infraction that I don't think I committed, but I was not going to pay a bribe! Moto continues to run great! Donnie

I crossed over into Costa Rica today. A five hour or so border crossing! This is my first time in Costa Rica. This makes seven countries so far on this trip. I should cross over into Panama within the week. Depending on available time, I may hit Belize on the way home.

I am in San Jose, Costa Rica and will head toward the Panama border today. I will probably stop short of the border and cross Sunday.

I betcha they sold you a flaky HES in Mexico, then the guys in Guatemala killed it by reinstalling the rotor wrong. Which I guess by killing it, they did you a favor, so you could get a good sensor and get it fixed right, rather than chasing a ghost problem.
Glad things are running well Donnie! |

Liz put me on to this thread as the HES on my 1150 failed on the way to work last friday. Just got around to reading it.
I second the help and advice here on ADV, its great to have a global network for help that has the experience I shall post up a thread when I get mine all together again, including some alternate methods we used thanks Hay Ewe

Costa Rica is a popular retirement spot for ex-Patriots from the US. I understand the living is cheap and the country is beautiful. Donnie, once your journey ends, anything further you can tell us about C R would be appreciated.

It is very pretty! Cokes are $1.80 to $2.50 depending on where you buy them. Quite a shock when you cross the border where they were 70 to 80 cents. McDonald's is MS price plus 40%. I paid $25 for a small cabin in the outback and up to $117 for a nice place in San Jose. Road side restaurants were priced about the same or a bit higher than MS. A lot higher if you are a big coffee drinker, because anywhere south of the US sells their coffee by the cup. I am sure it is cheaper because everyone says it is, but on my pass through, it was not any cheaper than places I visit in the states, plus gas is $1 to $1.50 higher per gallon.
