If you're serious about buying a chopperesque bike, take a long look at the Victory Jackpot. I rode the Judge at the recent motorcycle show (same basic bike) and just fell in love with that thing. The engine is fast and smooth, the chassis handles nicely and the fit and finish are amazing. The fact that it's American, yet still tweaks the Harley dorks is just a plus.

I like the Victory but the Honda has a coolness to it too.

This (kind of) bike sits at the exact opposite of what I like in a bike, look wise at least, but to each his own.
That being said, I'd buy a Honda over a Victory anytime.

Well, I rode the Yamaha Stratoliner almost back-to-back with the Victory. You'd figure that the engines are similar and the Yamaha would be at least as good. Lets face it: engine design and tuning is no mystery to Yamaha, right? The Yamaha has 1900cc to play with. It should haul ass, right? The Yamaha sucked out loud: poor mapping, herky-jerky low speed manners, poor throttle response, uninspiring power.
Now if the past is any indication, Honda is the only company that could turn sex with Scarlett Johansson into a boring, and unmemorable experience. They homogenize and pasteurize everything to the point of losing any hint of excitement. I don't suspect that the Fury is any different. OTOH: that Victory was an animal. Really. If you haven't ridden one, you owe it to yourself. It was not at all what I expected. I would LOVE to see a Buell-esque sportbike built around that engine. What a powerplant. Just wow! At the end of the day, the only person it has to make happy, is you. If you like the Fury, knock yourself out. |

go find a late used Big Dog (There are still parts) for about 10K and have fun. Much better than Honda. Look for 6 screws on valve cover they are better I have heard.
