After a very long day on some brutal two track, we had one of the bikes due about 50k short of the highway. Dead battery and no real way to diagnose, so we towed it with the 690 to the highway, riding into the setting sun, up and down hill, through washes and silt beds, then grabbed a taco and some gas and headed north 100k to Ciudad Constitution towing the bike in the dark.
(Yes, we did break a bunch of cardinal Baja rules.)

We're now sourcing another battery and checking the alternator output.

You do what you have to do. The rules are laid out to keep you out of trouble. Like said, it is these little unplanned for adventures that make the trip memorable!
