Service stations are NOT private property when they are open for business, they are a place of permitted public access and the same rules apply as any other public place.

I've had the exact discussion with a cop while I worked in service stations and wanted a customer banned from coming on the premises [a court restraining order was the only legal way he could be stopped because of the public aspect of the business being open for customers].

After all your little yellow comments in my post I will respond in kind and say.....

Fuck off, you only have your opinion and it does not give you the right to slag off at me in the way you have.

And as for losing legal rights...I was a hunter and gun owner in Victoria and had to hand in my legally owned guns.
But the criminals still have all the guns they want, so being "stomped on" by the Government with a change to the law didn't fix the problem of illegal guns in the community, it only penalised the law abiding people.

So don't assume you will be left your full freedoms as a motorcyclist if you don't stand up for them in the first place.
Settle down Francis, it's only the Internet.

I'm too old to know that acronym, I will have to look it up

And I've responded in kind, I'm a big boy and all is fair in love and war.

I'm a Turtle.....very thick skinned so I can take it as well as give it.

And as mentioned by my "adversary", it is only the internet

I'm sure if we met in person we would not fight over a ride and a few beers in a pub.

Well that's a given, it's too hard to tilt beer glasses with a flip helmet, even more difficult still if I have my full face helmet on

Yes so....

How many of you have been asked to take your lid off 'at the pump' again?

I lost count.

Gotta have a laugh.

A few months back ,I was filling up the hilux at the local servo , when A copper was filling a cop car. The copper started talking on his mobile ( Which is a no no and there is signage everywhere). I thought about chipping him, but I'm to scared to tell a copper what to do ( They call their mates and give ya a hiding).
Anyway, the girl who was on duty that day, Came out and told him to turn off his phone. And yes he got off the phone and looked like a goose.

10 points to that lass.

If they were really concerned about safety then they would just make pay at pump always available, then they would have less people in the shop potentially robbing it.

At the moment woolworths has it but doesnt turn it on for all cards.

So I said to the copper at the booze bus operation that was set up in the middle lane on the Princes highway recently, when he asked me to remove my helmet and blow in the thingy........
" is it legal to remove my helmet when I am sitting on a running motorcycle in the middle of a main highway ? "
His exact response was " shit, thats a good question". He then said "you haven't been drinking have you....... Have anice night. "

In the servo...
If they dont turn the pump on, i place the hose carefully on the ground and leave.
It is not law to remove your helmet.
It is safer to leave it on while filling incase of fire.
It is courteous to remove your headgear when talking to (paying) someone.
I have asked if they had somwhere safe for me to leave my $800.00 helmet while i come inside to pay.
For a laugh, i have removed my helmet and put on my balaclave and baseball cap.........they turned the pump off and locked the door.
