Desert sled exc - 6.6gal fit
a noob's question:
can I put an Acerbis 25l/6.6 gallon tank onto a '10-11 exc? it says everywhere that the 6.6 gallon fits the '03-07 bikes only. Is it a biggie to put one on? the beast [IMG] [/IMG]my bike with 13l tank [IMG] [/IMG]

Won't fit worth a damn, get the 21.5 liter Acerbis tank made for your exact model.

I'm a sucker for the 80s rounded look of the older tank. There are plenty of other Acerbis tanks to choose from if you want that vibe, just assumed that the 6.6 was the least brain damage to fit, rather than trying keep one from a Honda in place with duct tape. anyone put a random fleabay Acerbis large tank onto an exc? Anything can be made to fit with enough time, money and skills....
I fitted an 08+ tank to my 04 EXC, and it required changing the seat, subframe, plastic and airbox, as well as rewelding and changing the tank mounting pin and the subframe mounting points. Then it fit nicely!

You're welcome to try, but the consensus is NO - there were too many changes to the bike. If you do try, let us know how it works out. We love to see novel solutions to these kinds of problem.
