1996 KTM EXC Electrical woes...I need help.

I have a bad reg/rec in 1995 KTM RXC 620. Bought a SPI universal reg/rec replacement took to installing it yesterday. The SPI has two yellow (AC), one black (ground) and one red wire (power). The factory reg/rec has a yellow & blue (AC), brown (ground) and red/white (+ terminal to the capacitor)

Off the stator there is a yellow and blue AC wires. I connected these to the two yellow wires on the SPI and the black wire on the SPI went to the - terminal on the capacitor & frame ground. The red wire connected to the + terminal on the capacitor.

Three kicks later bike starts up and runs fine. Now I have no lighting (LED tailight worked with the bad reg/rec) and even the horn doesn't work. With the bike running I can disconnect the yellow & blue wires comming from the stator and the bike still runs fine.

I also pulled the capacitor off the bike and it read 8.25 ohms and steadly drops a 100th of an ohm about every second and a half.

I sure could use some help as I am electrically challanged.
