Florida 5 days

Looking for some help on ride in Florida, leaving from Anna Maria I have from March 3 to March 8.
Looking for great areas to ride and things to see hoping mostly back roads and plan to tent most of the trip.
Planning to hit Ocala as I was there in Jan. for couple days.
Any suggestions of area, campsites or routes would be greatly appreciated.

Alexander springs campground in the ocala nat forest. Cedar key on the gulf coast, maybe the last best place in FL. Also fun to spend a day in st augustine, tour the fort, walk around old town.

If you are leaving from Anna Maria you could easily hit up the Edison/Ford winter houses in Ft Myers if you are interested in that type of history. From the Edison House you could run 31 to 17 up to 27 which will take you into Ocala. Myakka State Park east of Sarasota could be worked into that fairly easily and is a great place to see alligators, camp and has plenty of hiking trails/tours.

It seems you are looking to head north, but if you decide to head south, 41 through the Everglades is a good cruise. I also enjoy riding through Everglades National Park and you can camp all the way down at the end (Flamingo Bay). The mosquito won't be to bad and it isn't to hot this time of year. From there you aren't to far from a trip down through the Keys. Key Largo has some great charters for diving/snorkeling if you are into either of those.

Ocala NF has at least 100 days worth of good exploring available.

We like Kissimmee St Pk , but not for the riding(weather may be nice but roads are flat in FL) just as place to camp & fish-same for Blue Springs SP. The gulf coast north from Tampa will take you into some "real FL" esp on the back roads.
