Does anybody remember the old wine bushing festivals at McLaren Vale? I picked up at Scarpatoni's by asking one of their staff to drive me and my car home as I was too pissed. I used to be charming once but now am just a internet lurking old freak unable to interact with real people.

Angus
Im a big fan of a red blend from the Clare called "Angus the Bull"
Specially blended for drinking with a good steak. Even found it in a bottle shop in Vancouver. Pity it was 1/2 the price we pay for it here and we were leaving the next day.

Shot down to McLaren Vale tonight for some de stress time on the Ten, looks like vintage is in full swing. Should be a great year. Looks like low yields but high quality this year
. I'll be back down there fixing a pump in the morning so might have to try some of the berries before they are all gone.Finished off the ride up Willunga Hill twisties across Meadows road to Christmas Tree Hiil road then dirt across the top off the range back to Meadows. Lots of skippy's on the roads so took it easy. My confidence level back on the dirt is woeful since the bingle so I think a few more jaunts down to the Vale on the Ten are in order

Now sipping a rather nice Special Reserve Cab Sav from Huntington Estates
of Mudgee. Quite special in my opinion. |

For those of you that know the Little Red Grape bakery/cellar door (what a great combination) in the Clare Valley try the Good Catholic Girl (is that an oxymoron?) shiraz. Made by a member of the Barry family & is just so so smooth you wont believe it. Far better than that second rate Barossa crap.
