"Early" Fuel Injected non-supersports?

Trying to make a list of some of the "earlier" efi'd bikes that are non-supersports. Everyday bikes if you will, entry level on up otherwise I suppose. I know these are all still fairly new, but trying to make a list to sort of pare down in helping a friend select a modern bike that is relatively user friendly and inexpensive while still being fuel injected. I'm not a carb hater, and neither is he but he's got about 10-12 carbs total now(all 1 or 2 cyl machines) and would like something newer. I've got a couple on the top of my head but hopefully you can all chime in and add some I know I'm forgettings.

1. SV650 (not all)
2. FZ6 (top end intimidating?)
3. Versys
4. ER6N(aweful new, but seems fairly cheap)
5. Not the 599........

6. Monsters post 01ish
7.k75/100
8. Guzzi post early 90s

Back in 1980 Kawasaki made a version of the LTD 1000 and called it the Classic ,I believe, that had basically the same FI as the GPZ 1100s .They were uglier than hell and didn't sell .As on the GPZs if you wanted performance you yanked it off.

1999-Up Triumph Tiger, most likely Sprint ST/RS as well
1998-up VFR800's

Not sure on year ranges, but bmw R1100xx as well...my 94' was EFI.

The GL1200 had EFI for two years in the 80s, 85 and 86 if I remember correctly. They went back to carbs after that until the GL1800 came out, but from the people I've talked to who've had the EFI version, they worked just fine.

Kind of a big bike for a brand new rider, but not at all hard to handle after a little experience on a bike.

Just a heads up, but the Honda 599 is carb'd, except for 07 which I'm not sure came to the states? All of the 919's are FI though.

Moto Guzzi has been using EFI since about 1992. The Quota and Stelvio are dual sports. The California series are cruisers, and arguably the best handling cruisers anyone ever built. There are other sportier models in there as well.

I had an '85 Goldwing LTD. The fuel injection does indeed work fine when in perfect condition, but it deteriorates fairly quickly. It uses a lot of plastic and rubber parts that rot and crack. It just doesn't hold up well over time, and Honda no longer makes parts for it. What amazed me is the electronics all still worked after more than 25 years. They seem to be a lot more robust than what is used on most bikes today. They are analog not digital. I shorted out the battery more than once, and it did not fry the ECU.

Now parked in my garage (to service and sell on behalf of my friend). Flawless EFI. Cat in exhaust system. Console front suspension. Loads and loads of tech stuff. Great bike. Well ahead of it's time, still turning heads on the street.

I'd concur with all of the above.....with the exception of "Flawless EFI".
I've found my GTS' first-gen EFI to be extremely notchy in its on-throttle / off-throttle response -- so much so that it was a detriment at a motorcycle training event. Never took it to such a venue again; in fact, I rarely ride it since my other bikes "carburet" so much better. However, once on-throttle, the GTS power delivery is sweet, buttery, and powerful. If I had the guts, I'd crack open the computer box and start tweaking some potentiometers in an effort to smooth out that twitchy throttle response.

In any case, I wouldn't recommend the GTS as an entry-level bike per the OP's inquiry....despite being EFI'd.

Just to add some info on the rider. He's got a couple thousand miles under his belt. Primarily on a little exciter 250 and has started riding an old GL650 silverwing. He's not yet totally comfortable with the size and weight of the wing' but seems perfectly capable of riding it. I don't even think it's so much that he can't handle a little more bike(he's around 6' 1" maybe 220lbs) and 37yrs old. If it wasn't for what I believe to be an anxiety issue(perhaps disorder) I think he could probably ride anything. Just the same, 650cc bikes and under will do whatever he needs to do and he'll feel more comfortable at the end of the day and I suppose that is what is most important.

Thanks for all the input so far I do appreciate it. I do think that perhaps the 750cc bmw K75 maybe one of the best idea's. I hadn't thought of in the list. To some degree more of the "old school" he feels comfortable with and likes, while still offering a very sold package. I need to read into those more and check on what changed over the model runs. Did spot a k75rs for 3250 that looked really good, but I know I've seen clean k75's go for less.

The potential buyer claims "I'm going to buy something good this year" lol. Last year he bought about 5 old bikes none of which were particularly road worthy and would like to buy something to ride more than tinker with this year.

Why the heck would you want an early EFI bike? I've owned two, a 97 Suzuki TL1000-S and 00 Triumph TT600. Never again. I strongly recommend either a 2nd or 3rd gen EFI bike or stay with carbs.
