Utah suggestions? April 1-5

A friend and i are planning on going to the Moab area for 5-6 daya the first week of April. Im looking for good day loops or rides. I want to do the white rim trail for sure and i would really like to do the burr trail to boulder and then ride 12 for a little bit and maybe stay all night then head back toward bullfrog te next day "not sure yet though". Nothing set in stone yet on which trails. We are looking for awesome scenery and some cool trails. Nothing super technical. We are riding on tw200's "trail goats". Any suggestions would be appreciated and free places to camp primative if they exist? If not campgrounds will work. Thanks.

This comes up so often that there could be a sticky about Moab rides.....

A simple search should give you some ideas......these are not new questions and neither are the answers.......

Bullfrog is a good jumping off point, so is Hite Marina, they have camping fuel and a store also and closer/better ride options. From the Hite area you could easily do an out and back to the Dollhouse on a TW, it's a great ride with nice scenery and you'll get to ride a little bit of everything. Plenty of free camping in the area.

IMO, the Burr tr was a big disappointment, the switchbacks were pretty nice but the rest is graded gravel or pavement. If you break off on Wolverine Loop you see much more and it's a bit more primitave.

I'd stick with Moab, do the WRT, then check out all the other riding in the area and bag the Burr Trail. Buy the Latitude 40 East Moab and West Moab maps. Best ones available.

Thanks for the info and the moab 101. If we have enough time we still might try and do burr and maybe notom and loop back down 12. 12 is one of my top 5 favorite roads. The TW is pretty capable of riding pavement. We are looking for good trails, good roads and scenery. Im trying to get a buddy hooked on this so i can have a riding partner. He has never been west of the corn fields so i think he will love it. Back in october a friend and i did a 1600mile pavement ride from indianapolis through WV. V , NC "deals gap" TN and back home. It was mostly back roads and state highways but the TW did great. Some say i was crazy but it got cold and crappy out so we rode the interstate from knoxville TN back to Indianapolis "400+miles" on the TW. I did have it geared up a bit.
