Does anyone have a Kriega R35? Will your helmet fit in it?

I have some Kriega stuff, and it's head and shoulders above all the
competition, including Ogio, and that is high praise because Ogio
stuff is pretty nicely designed and built. I cannot answer the question
of whether a helmet will fit inside an R35 but I would guess that it
will, however Mike at Kriega will probably know for sure.

Heard from him. He wasn't sure about fitting a helmet in the R35. Craig has one at his shop and will check fit for me.

When you find out please DO post your findings here; that will add
value to this thread and answer the question for others who may
wonder the same thing. I suggest you use the "go advanced"
option and change the title of your thread to "Helmet in Kriega R35"
so a Google Advanced Search will more easily find the thread.

A backpack intended for use on a bike should be able to hold
a full face helmet, it just makes sense to have that option available.

If vabuckaroo69 doesn't mind, I'll cut and paste the email response I sent him on Monday, for everyone's reference:

To answer your question; Kriega does not make a bag specifically designed to accommodate a helmet. Kriega packs are designed to perform when you need it the most - while you are riding (and your helmet is being used). Making the packs bigger, or adding a helmet carrier is likely to compromise this performance. That said, depending on the size of your lid, it might be possible to fit it into our larger packs (R30 and R35), but this is obviously not guaranteed.

We do however, offer a superior helmet cover / carrier in the form of the US Skin: http://www.kriega.us/us-skin-road-helmet-cover/. This offers excellent protection, compared to standard helmet bags and comes complete with a short carry handle and longer shoulder straps to make toting your helmet around a little easier. I am sure it can be attached to a backpack pretty easily using a carabiner or similar, but this is not an official solution.

I hope this info helps, but please feel free to drop me a line if you would like any more detail or feel I can be of any further assistance at this stage.

Thanks Chacha. Do you think a peak/visor would still work? Although, I could always take it off for transport. And thanks Mike for your help, too.

I'm pretty sure the visor is gonna have to come off. I had to close my shield to slide it in. There will be a small space infront of the helmet ( bottom of bag) and also behind the helmet by the zipper.

I pushed my lid as far in as it would go too. If you look at the second and third pic you can see how much space after the helmet you will have.
