I have one. Nice part.
It actually doesn't relocate the side stand, it changes how its attached to the bike. That's a good thing because you don't have to worry about doing any rewiring.

I have it on my 950. Great part. Also, I have an early 2005 950 with has an extra gusset on the frame down in that nether region. I opted to cut the BDCW bracket rather than cut the gusset or return the part. The part is still holding up just fine even with the fairly extensive cut. BDCW offered to send the early 2005 part for my bike for free because of the issue, but I declined and offered to just run this part as a test until it broke. That was years ago. Great part. Great service.

I picked up a 2012 990r this past weekend. I asked the dealer about the need to relocate the kickstand, such as using the Black Dog product. He said that on the recent model 990's the kickstand has already been relocated... but was not sure if it fixed the porblem 100%... Fact or fiction? I am leaning hard towards just doing it so I don't have to worry about it - but I am wondering if this is a current model issue or not... Anyone able to fill in the gaps for me? Thanks!

Oh thanks everyone .
I thought that there was also a bracket that actually relocated the stand to the foot peg mount ? I was looking at the braces but for some reason I was thinking that there was a kit to actually move it ? That was the pic I couldn't quite make out . I guess I know why .

Someone did make something that actually moved the side stand but I don't recall if it was a bolt in or a weld on solution.
If you have the side stand bracket, a good aftermarket skid plate and don't hammer the bike off road then that would pretty much take care of alleviating the problem. The one from CJ Designs appears to take it completely off the motor. http://www.cjdesignsllc.com/products...ation-bracket/

Sweet yea that's the one I found (cjdesigns) and couldn't make out the pic !
I'm just not sure which way to go now . I was looking at the bike today and it seems that the brace would help to protect the oil lines too but then a good skid plate will to . So meny farkels . I do plan on off slab ridding as I did with the KLR I'm just wondering if I spend a lil less on the side stand and a lil more on the skid plate all would be good ?????? ![]() Anyone attempt to claim the busted case on your insurence ??????????

Had one on my 2008 (BDCW) have one on order now for my 2011.
The 2008 got punked in a street accident and the unit got bent - but the engine was fine! Proven! Who knew the damn street would be the culprit. (don't worry wasn't my fault).

Good Skid plate 1st.
Sidestand bracket 2nd IF you have to put an order on things. Honestly I have always been impressed with CJ's stuff. I try to help him out with product testing and fitment when ever he needs it. You cant go wrong with his setup. Have you seen what he did to his 950? Check it out, then decide what you want to do.
