R80 G/S new Jesse Luggage
I saw the Jesse Luggage post about a run of bags for the airheads. Which is cool because I there are not many options for my G/S. My R1200GS had Jesse bags on when I bought it used a few years ago. For my purposes the Jesse bags work well on the R12. After great pondering I put my name on the list for a pair of bags to bolt on my G/S.
Today four boxes were waiting for me on the porch. Jesse Luggage was nice enough to NOT charge my credit card until they shipped, last Thursday. Insert mental pic of a stack of four boxes on my porch(lost the pic, oops).

Lars aka BIG DADDY, there was four cardboard boxes on the porch. Two with brackets, etc. and two with a saddlebag each. Curious thing is with all the goodness, there isn't any assembly instructions.
Happy New Years to you my friend! Now that I have a proper bike we have to meet somewhere instead of Paris. ![]() Now I am going to teach myself the pic posting procedure AGAIN! ![]()

Some details...
I ordered silver powder coated bags, the top plate and the side plates of the luggage are the same color.
The bracketry is powder coated, the color semigloss black. The flat stock thickness for the racks is .120" and they appear to be sturdy. The material for the saddlebags are .08" thick. All welds are nicely done too. Below are pics of my unpacking of the goods. ![]() ![]() ![]() The knife is only there to prop up the rack ![]() ![]() This appears to be the rear bracket. ![]() Misc bits... ![]() Curvy racks that will take some head scratching to figure out where they go. ![]() ![]() Side rack doodad. ![]() other side rack doodad. ![]()

update
I have been struggling with how to install the bag brackets on the R80 G/S. I called out to Jesse on some tips on how to install these bag brackets. Lo and behold there are instructions that were emailed out in .pdf format. I did not get them or deleted them by accident. The fine people of Jesse Luggage emailed me another set. This weekend I continue with the install. My R80 is missing the angle brackets that support the rear of the solo seat/rack combo. Bracket fabrication will be going on while I am doing the bag rack install.

Do you have a picture of your mount. My Jesse mounts are terrible because I seem to lose something off of them on anything but paved roads. I have read that they have gone through about five mount redesigns and would really like to have the one that lasted 20 years...because I doubt that I have that particular one on mine.

Nice! The racks look great. Those push-button locks are useless, btw. I could pry open my jesse's with a pocket knife.
Best boxes to crash on EVER. Even when you go sliding offroad those angles at the bottom cause the boxes to go over anything you hit. A normal box would have a corner that would catch and tear the box off when it hits a crack in the pavement.
