No you aren't imagining the awful appearance, but if you're like me and you find the new one (old one actually) near impossible to read, you can change it back. Scroll all the way down to the bottom where there's a pull down menu that says "cRASH". Change it back to ADV2.0 and all will be right again with the world.

I save it on my bookmarks bar and, volia! It's back on 2.0. But maybe my Mac is just smarter

I think this is how you can set it permanently:

1. Click on the 'Control Panel' button, the little clipboard looking icon in the top right
2. Click on 'Edit Options' on the left side under the 'Settings and Options' heading
3. Scroll all the way down to 'Forum Skin' where you can set your default appearance. Note that it says that some forums can override your choice of appearance, so maybe it won't work.
4. Be sure to click on 'Save Changes' down at the very bottom

Some of us old-timers have had cRAsH as default for over a decade now... I had to fix things when ADV 2.0 became the default a year or so ago.

Then again, I remember cRAsH (the person) from those early days. Talked on the phone once; nearly met up for some riding out in CA in 2002.
