Freezing temps coming up!!

We are heading off on Friday for 2 weeks through vic/nsw high country and up north. Just looked at the forecast. Minus 7 overnight in alps on Monday! Even Canberra is headed for -4. Damn I shoulda got those heated grips installed.

Hmmmm there is going to be a fight over who has to carry the frozen tent in their luggage

I reached for the balaclava (now lm hungry) this morning while wearing my Rally X pants and big thick touring jacket over my work clothes.
It was only 12 deg outside
I hang my head in shame and think back to all those years of night shift in Melbournes NE suburbs.
Age has wearied me and at the going down of the sun l will get cold.

Have a great ride, l'm very very jealous.

You mention baclava?
That's just 12% off freezing - so pretty cold!

Nothing like a bit of cold weather camping to harden up a bit! From my winter ride last year, I love it!
Good gear and its not a problem

Alpine Rally, Yarringobilly. 4 or 6 years ago, can't remember. This was monday morning after a beautiful full moon and clear skies on the sunday night.
One thing I've never worked out. How come everyone goes on sunday morning?

Biggest problem I've found is if you get wet or even damp hands, most winter gloves with thinsulate lining are useless cos you can't get your hand back in. Cold I can deal with, cold and wet all day can bring you undone pretty quick. Also found one important thing is to have some sort of shelter you can erect in a very short time to stay dry if yon have to stop.

Silk.
Go to a ski store.
Buy silk stuff.

Use it on the bike.
Use it in the bedroom.
Your choice.

Sounds like a good adventure. Snow predicted each day for the next week as well in the high country.
You still have time to get the heated grips... Do it. You won't regret it.

Packing a frfrfrfrfrrozen tent is a bugger because the freeze later melts!
Handy tip; carry a garbag to transport it in, if taking it within a saddlebag/pannier.

Possibly the 40th held in 2009. ~> My orange dri-rider jacket in the background doesn't look that faded at the time!

This Sunday 9th June is a new moon. ~> Make sure the batts in your headtorch are good!

Those who bugger-off on Sunday morning attend another Rally?

Heh, heh, heh.

I had a look at my other pics, it must have been 07, camped up on the higher ground above the old house.

Is that you Al??? I can't connect the dririder and a KTM 950?
