mirror extensions, vertical not horizontal

so im wondering...

i have seen this photo on several threads:

but what i have been thinking i want is more of a vertical addition. this pic is great and shows the addition of a two inch piece in the neck after the bend. but i would like to add height so im wondering if it would be doable to add something like a bolt between the mirro stalk and the handlebar mount? something like a 2 inch bolt that i can bolt from underneath like it does now and then have the extra height that the mirror can then screw on to. hope that makes sense.

i guess im looking for input on my idea and maybe give me your input. obviously the idea is born from only being able to see my shoulder. so im thinking height is what i need not horizontal spread. what you folks think?

Not sure if THESE will work, Bob, but I've used these guys before and no problem shipping stuff to the U.S.

If you only need an extra inch, Sierra BMW sells THESE.

The other thing you can do if you haven't done it already is to install a set of bar risers. I'm 6'1" and bar risers did the trick for me. I can see 100% of both mirrors on my '04 without having to lean or crane my neck. Helps with all the other ergos at the same time.
