The Timing Of This Thread!
I hope this is not a bad omen.
I was adjusting the clutch and free play for the Rekluse on my bike today so it was idling with many cracks of the throttle to 5k+ rpm. This were pretty hot down below and under the set. Could not even touch the alarm box mounted under there. Well I had noticed that the volts were starting to climb while idling. Usually 14.4 volts while riding. It crept up to 16.8 volts before I shut it down. Went and got my hand volt meter and checked it against the one mounted on the bike and they both read the same but when I started it back up again and let it idle it seemed normal. Never did creep back up. I am getting ready for a trip in Laos next week and don't want to be stranded again. Last time I was in the mountains of Cambodia with a dead battery. So is this a sign of the VR going south? |
