...and by the way, I would have hammered the crap out of that rim to get Mark back on the trail!

Wow.. so Mark is the one with the bent wheel and was also the guy who got the job of driving to and fro? That sucks.
Like Marco said.. I woulda banged the thing straight again. Or gone into Ridgecrest or Beatty and looked for somebody who could repair it. Man, I miss DV. Thanks for the great photos!! BTW, after the hot springs, which way did you go to get to Scotty's Castle? I didn't recognize that canyon. You didn't go over Steel Pass did you? Rob

Thanks for the kind words. I hope to get my bike back soon so I can take the route off my GPS and post it. I hear Mark finally made it back safely to Chicago.

Thanks for taking the time to write the report & take all the pics, I really enjoyed it.
We have a group of guys similar to yours and we try to take one big ride a year. Looks like this year will be the Western TAT in late August. It's ride reports like yours that keep me going while I wait for the iced over trails to thaw.

I'm glad you were able to make use of my photos.
My personal favorite: ![]() I'm just gald that I took your advice and hung a cheap snap & shoot camera around my neck. It's amazing how many more nice shots you will get if you don't have to stop, remove your gloves, dig through your stuff and pull out a camera.
