Adventuring Creep

Death Valley invaded by Creeps?!
That's right! Creeps M/C is making their 2nd run to DV, the first was 2 yrs ago for DVDaze. This time we have decided to do our own run.
-3/22 early AM --> leave San Jose, CA & camp/hotel in the Bakersfield area -3/23 early PM -->arrive in Furnace Creek CG -3/24 AM --> south tour loop (details to follow) -3/25 AM --> north tour loop (details to follow) -3/26 early AM --> ride towards San Jose, CA; camp TBA -3/27 early PM --> arrive back in the Bay Area In the last month more people have been jumping on board, as we put out the open invite to join us. We are now making this invite more public! What does this invite include? -Join us around the campfire (site #143 @ Furnace Creek) -Join us out on the trail -Join us for the ride to DV or to the Bay Area What does this not include? -no Tshirt -no maps -no food (list goes on!) What do we expect from you? -Provide your own gear, meals, gas, etc -Make your own arrangements -Pay your portion of the site fee, with whomever you arrange to share a site with -Storys around the campfire -be able to carry a minimum of 200miles worth of fuel! -can handle 200+ miles in a day (day trips will be 160+/- miles of mixed dirt/highway between gas stops!) Please, don't be dependent on others, without prior arrangements! **This is not an organized event, in fact it's a disorganized ride!** **We only got 1 site, it is full to capacity!** There are 2 CGs in the Furnace Creek area, which are "1st come, 1st served", Sunset and Texas Springs, get someone there early to insure a site! ![]() YES!! My collaboration of hooligans will TRY to make Texas Spring our Camp Ground of choice. If that does not pan out, the we are off to Sunset CG... Texas has firepits..... We will TRY and take over 2 RV sites, one for ourselves and the other for extra inmates that wish to join us(only so we can get some parking space and be drunk and loud. but we wont have an RV). To quote the NPS site: "Campsites are limited to no more than eight people and two vehicles or one recreational vehicle per site." The one condition about joining our site is you MUST have a good campfire attitude!! ![]() Other then that, lets have a great weekend ~Junior

Just to clarify that, 2 cars are allowed to park at a site and are included in the price, extra vehicles pay a fee and park in the overflow parking. They usually let 6-8 bikes park at a site as long as they are in the parking area!

You bring it, we will all sign it!
But don't forget your safety glasses, we'll be using spray paint!

RE: Your north loop....Lippencott Mine Rd. is still there and in pretty good shape. Could you be referring to Steele Pass? It was hit in those storms but is actually OK now.

Gotcha. Not sure I'd want to do Lippencott on my GS. Your map looks like you will use Hunter Mt. road to get from Teakettle Junction to the top of South Pass/Saline Valley Rd. You definitely want to check road reports before you go-Hunter Mt. can close with snow/mud. The good news is that Racetrack Rd from Ubehebe to the Racetrack is in excellent condition.

Check the NPS Death Valley site and look for the morning report. That will give you the "official" road closure information. http://www.nps.gov/deva/index.htm
For an informal view, try Death Valley Talk. http://www.deathvalley.com/dvtalk/dvtalk.shtml |
