Good meeting/riding with you Ed. Don't know how we didn't end up swapping lies at the campfire. Next time...

Well, I'm sorry I didn't make it up there. A week ago my plans were simple, but they became very "changeable" during the week. It started with a minor event of my daughter having a reaction to the sun and some antibiotics she was taking. Following doctor's adivce she stopped taking them for a while and her Spring Break started fine. She did ask us to celebrate her birthday a week early (on the 15th) so she wouldn't have to drive back down from Waco. So that changed my plans to make it on Friday. That was the beginning of a sequence that changed everything I had planned. She headed for Corpus for a few days of sun (no antibiotics) and had a great time. On Friday she and her buddy headed back home and Katie decided since she was done with the sun that she could start the antibiotics again (doctor had implied this was okay), but within an hour started to react badly. So buddy finishes the drive home, we get her off to the Urgent care facility and a couple of epinephrine shots later she showed signs of getting better. That killed the bday celebration for Friday night and pushed it to Saturday. Oh well, she's well now and family first so we did the Bday cake thing and I'll try to make the next camping trip.

So Ed, I'm really sorry I couldn't ride up on Friday with you, but I didn't just flake out on you.

A nice weekend

No problem Woodbutcher, I'm sorry we missed you, and I understand completely how real life events mess up our riding plans no matter how hard we work at it!

The gang had a great time, were delightful to hang out with, made me feel right at home, explained some basic nuances of Texas and Texas riding, showed me how to get my bike all dusty. They even started a betting pool on how fast I'd flee the state, with apparently the big money on 24 hours to 7 days. And finally, where else can you go that the white 07'BMW GSA is the most common bike of the weekend? I was great to see more GSAs than KLRs for once !!!!!! Amazingly good taste these guys have in bikes...

Ya, we all lost money on that one. Based on past experience riding experience with SOG and the infamous TXJames stories, I bet the under at 8 minutes or the first triple digit speed in caliche dust with an ample 3 feet of visibility..

Must have been that beautiful GSA of yours that kept you coming back for more . I enjoyed chasing you around the countryside. Next time bring your g-tar, maybe one made of steel for obvious reasons.

I brought the KLR down to the farm, but I love my GSA...was trying to save tire for a short trip...riding with SOG cause tire erosion problems

You had 3 feet? Riding sweep on CR 2800 I didn't have 3 inches of clear vision. I could see the occasional helmet bob up and the led brake light on the KLR. That's it.

Pray for rain.

Crap. You guys missed out on the wet stuff again? Not good.

Sorry I had to pull out at the last second. I was really looking forward to meeting the new victims but whatever sickness I have seems to cause motorsikal-interuptus.

Sent from my HTC using magic.

I spoke to Jim's wife and she said they are gonna discharge him tomorrow. Mrs Colbe is a RN so he will be in good hands. Anyone in waco area might buzz by say hi. The bleeding in the brain has stopped, but don't be like Beemerless Bob and make Jim laugh(Bigdave did that to me all the time after my last rib breaks)...his ribs still hurt real bad....

Lets keep praying for him

The bleeding in the brain has stopped,

Holy cow. that is the scary stuff. My wife had 2 brain anuerisms (yes I spelled it wrong). Two major surgery events, near death stuff back in '89. Docs said she was 1 in 3 million to have survived with no observable mental deficit. I told em she had that deficit stuff long ago, obviously, since she married me.

Washed my bike today SOG. It was really fun. You should try it sometime :-)

You people are being so mean to me. And after I was so kind to everyone. Even went up front just to play with James on the River Road. And my bike was a plain white 07. Till I improved it. ;) So there. Pfft!

I think the non-politically correct term for your condition is wigger.
