Thumb Thumper Vibes - HDB Anti-Vibe Threaded Inserts

....being a (ugh) senior rider, my hands are starting to act up lately, especially since installing the Athena 290 kit.
More vibes = more numbness in the metacarpels and thumbs. Sucks.
Like my mother-in-law says, "Old age ain't for sissies!"

So, pre-Athena I'd installed FLEXX bars more for impact than vibration.
I suspect they mitigate some vibration by design.

That said, this weekend I installed a set of my fav Pro Grip 719 RVGS Open End Gel Grips.
Paul at HDB sent me a set of his HDB Anti-Vibe Threaded Inserts to test.

I'm happy to say that between the two (grips/inserts) the handlebar vibe is down to near nil as far as riding a high revving WR250R goes, probably actually less than when the bike was stock.

For an old dog like me, this is a biggie! :

Interesting. This said, the WR250 has to be one of the smoothest thumpers ever.

I agree on the Flexx Bars; being better at damping impact than reducing felt vibration through the bars.

I have to wonder how well the HDB anti-vibe inserts would work on a bike that vibrates more. I installed the Flexx anti-vibe inserts (look to be slightly more mass than the HDBs) on an old LC4 and I didn't think they had *any* effect. Far more mass (large bar end weight) was needed to make even the slightly reduction in the vibration felt through the bars.

Yes the Fasst Co anti vibe inserts are $60 fishing weights. A complete waste of money!!

...ya need to know that my WR had the Athena 290 kit, raised the vibes considerably.
I had the FLEXX, cushy grips, and the inserts, so it's a combo of help for my aging hands.
