Texas or bust.
Well I didn't make it to Texas, but it wasn't really a bust. I left South Florida this past summer to go on a 10 day road trip. Headed out alone. I could go anywhere I wanted in the ten days time. I planned on going to The Texas Hill Country but it was just too hot on the Interstates. After a day and a half of the Interstate I took a left and headed to the beach.
Back up plan was to ride US98 and the side roads down the Gulf Coast. I am from Florida but there are parts of the pan handle I have never been too and place it's been a long, long time.
So the next five or six days were. Wake up in my tent. Make coffee. Break camp and ride till around noon. Find some seafood. Ride and swim some more. Find a place to camp. Hard life!
Some rest stop the Interstate.
Riding the Ferry on Mobile Bay.
The Florida Panhandle beach have the best sand I have ever seen.
Drying out from a rainy night, plus did some laundry.
Best campsite of the trip. Grayton State Park. Ended up staying here two nights.
View a few feet behind my campsite. A small lake, then the ocean right on the other side of the dunes.

Im in NC and my daughter moved to Austin, Texas last summer. Thinking of riding out there this spring to visit her, so your ride report is very interesting to me. I like your style: avoid interstates, camp when you can, swim, eat good seafood, enjoy.

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there.
