Its a 1000 four. I was thinking of maybe creating something like this.... but with more of a "budget" look

Then I found this

I like the second one....

That first one looks seriously tough, tougher than what looks like a half arsed GS attempt.

There are some very cool brick based builds out here

On a different note I went for a Wairarapa loop today and took a wrong turn and ended up riding the Opaki Kaiparoro Rd (Mauriceville) - what a sweet bit of seal - perfect for the SV. When I got to the end where it (unexpectedly) joins SH2 I wasn’t to unhappy at having to turn around and ride the whole thing again to get back to HW52.

I am absolutely loving riding the SV on these back roads - I am now totally addicted to big noisy dollops of mid range GRUNT

I had a K75S for a few years. The old K bikes are rock solid. I'd say they have been much better built than the newer stuff. The K75 had a dodgy from fairing mount and stupid internal steering head damper. Other than that, a great bike. Keep an eye on your fuel pump. Oh and you've probably worked it out by now, they have an alloy fuel tank.

Speaking of jandals, went to the shops on the GS today and am convinced that airheads were designed to be ridden whilst wearing jandals. MMM lovely warm toes.

I'd had a particularly nasty week his week so I was really looking forward to getting out for a ride.

I left home this morning on the 'metric monster' around 9ish and headed up to Wanganui where I gassed up and sat outside the service station doing the coffee/muffin thing when a herd of hells angels turned up. I felt like I'd walked onto a 'Sons of Anarchy' set - they certainly take themselves pretty seriously.

I headed up the river road (sealed all the way now) to Pipiriki for lunch - what a stunning special place and the sv was fine pootling along at 80-90k on the crappy surface. The road between Pipiriki and Raetahi is fairly tight but a complete hoot when you can just launch yourself out of all the corners - awesome fun - for a while my name became Valentino - a legend in my own mind.

I headed part way down the Parapas, which is much more open but provided you decide that speed limits are for pussies is immense fun.

I hung a left at Fields Track which was stunning with the road covered in autumn leaves (glad it was dry) and then went south on Whangaehu Valley Rd - narrow high crowned road with deep drifts of gravel do not go with sporty tires but once onto the lower sealed portion I became Valentino again.

The road between Fordyce and Hunterville has to be one of the best bits of twisty seal in the country - autumn leaves everywhere - just stunning.

Had a pot of tea in Hunterville and sat outside the shop watching a police checkpoint nabbing people for rego/wof.

The north up SH1 to Otara Rd which heads east to Rangiwahia and then south to Kimbolton for a toasty. There is a pub opposite the place where I was having the toasty and four bikies came out of the pub and without helmets left at full noise to their destination 200m down the road where the leader arsed off in the middle of the main rd.

There didn’t seem to be a lot of sympathy for him amongst the other coffee shop customers...

back home after a great day about 7ish

This new toy is way way too much fun.

Blah blah coffee/muffin blah blah autumn leaves blah blah pot of tea blah blah toasty blah blah blah...

You eat a lot for a skinny bugger and I think you’re getting soft in your old age.

I was soft in my young age as well

Wanna go for a ride wee fella?

gentle annie loop next weekend?

no one wants to buy the klr so I might take it for a ride to see if I want to keep it (and before the rego runs out late this month).

I'm selling the trials bike as well so as long as I go down to 3 bikes her indoors will be somewhat appeased

I hope it was only the riding you were copying from Valentino...

Sounds like an awesome bike Mark, I had an SS750 Ducati for a while but never went far on it. Your SV sounds like a good adventure bike for the roads you are on.

When will we be seeing you in the Naki again?
