Motorcycle in Patagonia

Hi, I am sure there is already tons on this. Does anyone know what company is the best place to rent a motorcycle for a one way self guided tour in Chile / Argentina? I am looking for a BMW to ride for 9 days! Thanks Dave

I rented from Ride Chile in Santiago. Great folks, very new bikes and really easy to work with. Website is www.Ride-Chile.com. Tomás and Mick are both great guys who have done RTW trips themselves.

Hi, Thanks for the info. What do you know about rideadv.com? I would like to do a 5 - 6 day ride in Patagonia. Can you recommend the best point to point ride down there? Thanks Dave

I don't know rideadv.com. What I would do is contact multiple sources in Chile and Argentina who can rent you a bike and then work with the ones who you feel most comfortable with. I did the same thing and I really liked the RideChile folks a lot.

The rental places will also help you with route planning and suggestions.

I rode Santiago to Ushuaia and back. By far my favorite part of that ride was the Carreterra Austral in Chile. It is 1 of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.

Thanks! I am pumped to do this ride. Is it crazy to try and do just a 5 - 6 day point to point ride down there?

It is not crazy logistically. I do think you will wish you had taken more time because it is so beautiful and the people are so hospitable.

Dave, if you are able to borrow a bike, I can show you some place to ride in southern Patagonia

Hi Guys, Thanks for the great ideas. Would doing a 5 - 7 day loop out of Osorno be worth it? I am planning on coming down to ride around December 8th Thanks Dave
