What size is the standard intake hose on a 78-79 R100 Is it a special material?

What's an "intake hose"? Carb to head?

Yes, the hose from carb to head. I want to replace it

I've heard stories of people cutting them out of generic heater hoses from the Auto store. Stuff isn't anything special. Look in the Dark Secrets thread for nfo.
