Lost a tickler cap.

Gotta admit, this little /5 is doing nothing but impressing me every day. She just wants to go and go and go. Lost my speedo needle a while back when it was bouncing around, but who needs to know how fast you're going anyway, right? Burned up most of a new back tire already, too.

Starting problems seem to be a thing of the past, although I'm sure they will reappear when the cold weather returns.

I'm just loving it.

However, yesterday, at my last stop, when I reached down to turn my petcock on, I noticed that my left tickler cap was missing. Nothing but a spring stickin' out. I got her back home and looked in the Clymer manual and there seems to be a piece that sits on top of the spring under the cap. That must be gone too.

I put on a rubber cap that I took off of an inlet on a new set of fatbob tanks. It's on the spring just to keep it from leaking. Fits pretty snug, but I don't think it's a good long term fix.

Any ideas from the guys in the know. Does the cap snap down on the plunger to keep from falling off? Did I loose something else between the cap and spring?

Anybody got a spare that they'd be willing to part with?

$9 per side for a complete assembly.

Not bad. Thanks Bill.

Now let's see how many miles I put on before they get here.
