Does that mean you are taking the trials bike up and entering the competition

This peaks my interest regardless if I can make it, can you elaborate on the situation?

If, by "the situation", you mean the NMOHVA lawsuit, yes!

NMOHVA filed a challenge to the Santa Fe National Forest Travel Management decision in December. You can read about it here:

http://nmohva.org/main/issues.php?id=72&archive=0

More here: http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=847932

If you want/need more info, shoot me a PM and I would be happy to answer your questions.

Hey Magoo, do you expect there to be some folks riding single track each day that wouldn't mind a foreigner from Colorado tagging along?

For sure there will be one or two ride groups doing singletrack routes Friday & Saturday Grub----(we want riders who are familiar with the area to lead ride groups each day with a variety of routes/terrain, etc).

We'll have a dry-erase board at the Lodge so volunteer ride leaders can post the routes they are going to lead, from easy dual sport routes, to forest roads with some technical rocky areas, to singletrack.

It would be awesome if you can make it to the event!
(bring your passport!)

Pre-Event ST Cleanup

Any plans for sawyer work on the trails before this event?

There was a lot of deadfall up in the CNF when I passed through last week, and another high-wind storm is blowing through.

I could put in a day with a saw in May, though my current bike is a little portly for the singletrack

I think that is a question best answered by Bruce Bolander as he has done yeoman's work keeping those trails clear for years. My guess he will want to wait with his answer until we get a little closer to the date. Mid-May seems an appropriate time to try and get the fresh deadfall off of the ST around Sipapu. When the time comes, I am sure Bruce will WELCOME some help.

That might not be fair to Bruce to put a event date on his trail cleaning schedule. If nothing else I would think that the DS riders might be willing to make sure that the DS roads are all passable.
