I put the 140 on my 990 and it was my least favorite tire yet. Scary under breaking off road, and end up blowing it out on freeway around 2000 miles in. Never going back on my bike.

Sounds like not much of a tire. Not hearing any good mileage out of them(not that that is everything). Looks to me like it would slide out easily also with those large lateral grooves.

just saw a press release yesterday from Metzeler that they will be fitted on the new Honda Rally 450 bike with a new Metzeler Karoo Extreme that is being developed for rally racing.

I thought about squeezing one more 300 mile ride in with it, but you can see the carcass is starting to touch in between the knobs.
I did a lot of dirt road drifting with it, and it had a similar lifespan to a TKC80 under the same riding conditions.
Not sure I will buy another one.

WOW!!! You must really be drifting!!!

Almost at 2500mi on the Karoo's with my 800XC

I did both ends a week ago, K3 front and rear, did the 140 cause I'm cheap,, so far I'm happy, smooth ride, Way better than the worn out Scorps that were on the bike when I bought it.. I'm a old very mello rusty rider, so we'll see. Did 100 miles on them on hard pack logging roads.. and about 70 on the pavement.. They do whistle above 55MPH but not as loud as my Jeep so I'm happy..

Very happy with the width compared to the 150's not much change and the tire has a more round profile which I like..
