Not an owner but I have seen both in action and the new LED is a big improvement. White light, very good spread on low beam and high beam adds a lot of distance while keeping the wide spread.

Thumb LC GS in Albuquerque NM

OK, here's what followed me home 10 days ago.
I've been reading about the new GS for a while now but wasn't going to get one without a test ride. Did that and Sandia BMW had a red GS w/ESA that nobody had reserved. My 2013 Triumph Explorer is now up for sale.

Do I look like a happy camper? You betcha.

I'm 6'4" w/34" inseam and have found the screen to be really loud but gives clean air from the shoulders up. I've got a x-tall Calsci screen ($200) on order to be shipped to me next week I had one on my 05 FJR and it worked well. I took the stock screen off completely and have been riding it as a naked bike. Clean air, quiet, but the wind pressure at freeway speeds (especially w/a head wind) is tiring.

The OEM screen on the Triumph Explorer (for sale, btw) however, is excellent and the best oem screen I've ever had.

Does anyone have a good assessment? I'm 6' and 32" inseam. Sounds crazy, but my r1200gs has made me so frustrated with the windscreen that i refuse to buy my next bike unless it is good from the factory.

I hadn't because there really isn't much to see. You've got the 2 screen mounts sticking up but that's about all.

In you opinion, is it better than the Triumph or just different? What do you like better about it? Thanks.

Yes but instead of all these similar photos of exactly three different colored GS with spokes or no spokes (ok also with or without sidebags), your "disassembled" photo is something different.

Yes. At least it should. Unless you drop it on the road in which case it is permissible to move it away from traffic, first.

The correct sequence of events when dropping your GS is:

1) kill switch. You do not want the bike to run for long on its side.
2) picture. Camera should be in easily accessed location
3) Lift bike
4) eventually upload pics to share on advrider

If necessary make sure you are not leaking blood or have broken bones, first.
