Would it be worth it to get the full Remus exhaust over the slip-on?

Maybe easier to clean when new but it is a fairly thin plating which can wear through from regular polishing over the years. It also rusts from the inside which stainless doesn't.

(Both can look equally mean and hard core with that aerosol spray on mud and grime if that's the image you want to portray)

Stainless brown or stainless blue? That is the question as chrome seems to come in both colors too. Perhaps someone should do a titanium one because then we could also have the rainbow option

Hell yes, that Remus looks perfect! IMHO the best looking can for the 13 bar none and I am an avowed Akra fan normally.

Tend to agree.
Good move they made it smaller.
I'll wait to see what BOS has to say too.

It is a fight between going for chrome + BMW/Akra for minor "benefits", or save the money and go for the full kit of someone else (Akra or Remus or surely BOS).

If they are both stainless they must be speaking about the finish - mirror or perhaps matt. You wouldn't electroplate stainless steel as it has enough chrome in it to give you the mirror finish as it is. To get the mirror finish that looks like chrome plating, they can either use a chemical or a mechanical buffing process. I presume they are using something like a 304 grade SS. No idea why they would offer a chrome plated option as it would be an inferior product IMHO.

The colour is a heat discoloration. Brown, blue, spotted or even a dark grey almost black. We ran a turbo once in which the header pipes would often glow orange on the dyno and what started mirror chrome ended up a very dark grey/black. The spotting (freckled effect) also comes from very high temperatures but it too can buffed or polished out as it is not a great look. It will be interesting to see what color the SS water head GS headers turn after a couple of guys have done a few track days and really worked the motor.

They are both stainless, one is chrome. Don't ask me why or how.

Dark screen fitted today

Ordered it with the bike, and after 7 weeks, the screen finally arrived

Nice. But makes it look a little to dark for my taste.

Are you pleased with your Akra? Still doubting on that front. Checked it out on youtube and the comparisan was distorted by filming near a tunnel.

The Remus looks a little to small on the bike.

Out in the sun, the screen doesn't look as dark as in the photos, if that makes sense. I'm going to paint the small deflector screen underneath today, as it looks strange having that clear, with the dark main screen.

The Akra is incredible. The way it pops and burbles on the overrun is fantastic. I agree that the Remus looks too small for the bike.

Here's the screen with the deflector painted satin black

I'm not sure how easily it will chip, so I may wrap it if it starts to look crap.
