That warm and fuzzy feeling

Mine was very tight with no play. But it just gives you that feeling when rolling down the road. This is what you want to see.

I also removed the ball bearing original equipment several years ago. It was in prema shape, no problems but I did the up grade.

I kept the original here for any KTM rider needing said bearing on the CDT or traveling

I have changed many bearing in the past as normal procedure and this original bearing was the first ever EVER that I have seen that was manufactured in South Africa.

ciao,gale

And they offer free shipping on $100 or more. They really now there stuff. My Dad has been doing business since the Penton days with em.

Did you say Penton!!!!
Oh my the memories.
Starburt head.
Fragile gearbox.
Best quality.

It's why I run the KTM.

My carb is leaking some fuel I am about 95% sure that it's because the tapered screw for the drain on the bowl is very slightly buggerd up... no problem get a new screw right?... well I'm having some issues finding the part. My local parts dealer said he can't get it and I can't find it on the sites that I normally buy parts from.

I had him look up the same screw for a DR-650 because they both have a BST-40 but the bowl on the DR-650 is different and I didn't want to get stuck with a $5 dollar screw I don't need ...

It also leaks a small amount around the fuel air mixture screw... any suggestions on how to fix this? New O-ring I'm guessing? It has an after market FA screw in it that the PO installed and it was not an issue before.

Thanks in advance for the awesome replies I normally get

Derek at Motolab is your man. I don't have a link handy, but you could search this thread, search vendors, or hope that he chimes in here. Or go to moto-lab.com, but I don't think he lists the parts that he sells there.

Thank you very much!

I figured that screw would be the only reason it's leaking there...

found it

I dunno... He's got a wierd look on his face and that tool is aimed at the Reindeer's arse.

The other deer are looking on like voyeur's and if I were that KTM deer I'd be nervous.

The next thing he'll say is "On Dasher! "

Mkay, so I successfully did the main-shaft bearing change, installed my new parts (new exhaust, KTM SXC muffler, airbox side cover mod), and it fired up very well. Mines a LC4 400 with a Mikuni BST-40.

Now, here's what my set up is currently (Finland).

Main Jet: 155
Idle Jet: 45
Air Screw: 3 turns out
Needle clip: 4th position

When I throttle and reach about 1/4th of the throttle, it starts to bog. If I slowly give it more gas, it will get over the bogging and get better, and at high rpm's it responds well. Oh, and when I let go of the throttle between 1/4-5/8th? throttle, the exhaust pops quite nicely... I'm having a hard time believing that the mixture would be too lean for a 400cc LC4.. I'm going to grab different main jets tomorrow, I got a 155 & 160 from Schneider Cycles when I ordered the exhaust and another airbox cover.

The annoying part is I can't get my bike jetted properly for the summer because it's quite slippery to ride right now...

Any tips on adjustment?

EDIT: Bogging can be caused both by a lean and a rich mixture, am I right? And popping can be caused by one as well? Any recommendations on main jet sizes, I'm thinking that the 155 is way big.
